Celebrating 30 Years of Hand to Hand

 

This year, Project Open Hand's annual winter celebration will be an evening soiree on Friday, December 9 at a new venue - The Hibernia.

The night will include multi-levels of entertainment, music, unique live auction items, fund-a-need, and food. Get your tickets now and join us as we move forward with the community and celebrate 30 years of Hand to Hand! 

This is not your typical sit down gala! There will be rooms and experiences to explore, along with multiple food stations offering delicious, hearty culinary bites.

In addition to our exciting live and silent auctions, raffle, and fund-a-need, this year's program will include recognition of the following honorees:

Shawn Ryan

Shawn Ryan

Recently seen on the Freeform show, "Famous in Love", and Hit Fox Show "Bones", our Emcee for tonight's Gala has a varied and vast career in the arts! He's been seen on shows such as "The Mentalist", "Women's Murder Club", "Life", and as a semi finalist on Season One of "America's Got Talent". Shawn's career as an Actor, Producer, Singer, Writer, Camp Director and Emcee brings him such joy! He loves educating, inspiring and creating social change through his charitable acts. Shawn most recently wrote and directed the short film "Henry" which made its debut at The Cannes Film Festival, marking Shawn's 8th film in 5 years at this prestigious festival. In addition to "Henry", Shawn has recently completed writing two musicals and is in development with a new feature entitled "Feels Like Home" to be produced later this year.

With an expertise in mashups, Airsun blends beats and stitches together tunes to create a musical mix that feels funky and fresh.

 

Joe Wicht

Joe Wicht

Joe Wicht is best known as the jovial host of Piano Bar 101 at Martuni's where he has been a house pianist for 15 years.  As a musical director, Wicht co-curated and arranged the 40-year retrospective, "Encore," for New Conservatory Theatre Center earlier this year.  Voted Best LGBT Musician by the readers of the BAR and a former honorary grand marshal of SF Pride, Wicht regularly appears as the host of open mic piano bars for SF Oasis and Feinstein's.  He is also a long-term employee of Project Open Hand.

Project Open Hand's Mission


Project Open Hand's mission is to improve health outcomes and quality of life by providing nutritious meals to the sick and vulnerable, caring for an educating our community. Our food is like medicine, helping our clients recover from illness. get stronger, and lead healthier lives.

Every day, we prepare 2,500 nutritious meal and 200 bags of healthy groceries to help sustain our clients as they battle serous illnesses, isolation, or the health challenges of aging. We serve San Francisco and Alameda counties.
